The Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 6 operator terminal with part number 2711P-K4M20D8 is a visual assembly that provides a monitoring and control interface for connected machines or processes. The 2711P-K4M20D8 is part of the PanelView Plus 6 400 operator terminal, which features a 3.5 "monochrome screen, eight (8) function keys from F1 to F8, navigation and number keys. The operator terminal is a DC powered device with an acceptable power supply range of 18-32VDC and a nominal value of 24VDC.
In most industries, the 2711P-K4M20D8 or any PanelView operator terminal is called the Human Machine Interface (HMI). It provides monitoring and control centralization on the factory floor by integrating one or more controllers utilizing either or both of the RS232 and Ethernet interfaces. Using RS232 interface, short distance communication via DH485 or DF1 protocol. This interface is typically only used for point-to-point connections in panel communications. Ethernet /IP(Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open industrial network that supports real-time I/O messages and message exchange. By using networking and standard Ethernet connectivity, the Ethernet port is connected to the controller on the Ethernet /IP network. This port can also be used for application transfer and printing. The Ethernet /IP screen displays and allows the user to modify some Ethernet /IP communication Settings for the PanelView terminal.
