Second, it is equipped with 24 discrete output channels that can be programmed with various on-board jumper module options, and this flexibility allows the device to adapt to many different output needs. Each output channel is designed to provide 12-bit resolution, which means that the output signal has higher accuracy and stability.
In addition, the VMIVME-2540 consists of six programmable System Timing controllers (STCs), each of which provides four high-speed counter/waveform synthesis interfaces for the ICC, providing 24-channel digital measurement and control for the VMIVME-2540. These STC counters can be configured individually or up to four to enable a variety of measurement and control functions. The onboard 68HC000 CPU directly configters and manages each STC interface, elevating the VMEbus host interface above the hardware level.
The VMIVME-2540 also features high-speed, easy-to-use networking capabilities with distances up to 10,000 meters between nodes in a single mode and data transfer rates up to 29.5 megabytes per second (or 14.8 megabytes per second with redundancy). In addition, the board complies with the single-slot VME standard and comes with an interrupted VMIC VMIVME-5588 high-speed reflection memory that supports error detection as well as redundant transmission modes that suppress errors.
