The IC693BEM331 is a bus controller module that is part of the general Cerise 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. Manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, the module is used to connect the 90-30 series PLC to the proprietary Genius l/O bus. The bus controller module is capable of communicating with Genius modules, such as discrete, analog, and special-purpose field devices. It also supports communication with remote /0 branches, which include 90-70 series /O racks connected via remote /O scanner modules, field control /O stations via bus interface units (of which up to eight (8 hours plus field control modules) are supported, Genius handheld monitors, and various hosts.

The 90-30 Series PLC system can be installed with up to eight (8) Genius bus controllers or enhanced Genius communication modules. In order to achieve this configuration, the firmware required for the 90-30 series PLC is firmware 5.0 or higher.

The IC693BEM331 is equipped with leds in various states mounted on the front panel of the module. These indicators include normal and communication indicators.
