The Allen-Bradley 1764-245WA is part of the MicroLogix 1500 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This part number is the basic unit that houses the necessary MicroLogix 1500 modules, such as the processor and memory modules. When installed with a 1764 processor, the base unit becomes a functional PLC.
The 1764-24BWA is an independently replaceable unit that allows to maximize embedded /O options while minimizing inventory costs. It contains a power supply, communication ports, and embedded inputs and outputs. Bulletin 1764-24BWA Base unit allows advanced communication with other devices through its channel 0 port. It acts as the extended I/O interface required by the application. It comes with eight standard and four fast 24 volt DC inputs and four 20 KHZ high-speed inputs. The 1764-24BWA base requires a processor to work and is compatible with 1764-LRP or 1764-LSP.
It has a 120 to 240 volt AC rated power cord and 12 relays (two of which are isolated). It has a power consumption of 88 VA, a maximum load power of 22, a supply voltage of 85 to 265 volts AC, and a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz. It also has a 24-volt DC power sensor rated for a maximum capacitance of 400 MA or 400 degrees Fahrenheit, a powerful feature not found in other base units. The 1764-24BWA base is certified for CE, C-Tick, UL, c-UL and Class 2 Hazardous Site operation. Together with the Bulletin 1764 processor, it forms a complete controller. Allen-Bradley 1764L.24BWA is the MicroLogix 1500 base unit. The basic unit is provided with a modular housing. The integrated communication port supports full-duplex or half-duplex DF1 protocol interfaces. It can interface with the Advanced Interface Converter (AIC) are 1761-NET-AIC, 1761-NET-ENI, or with the DeviceNet network by using the DeviceNet scanner module 1769-SDN. The converter can also be used to reuse serial ports on the base unit, allowing for human machine interface (HMI), monitoring and data acquisition (SCADA).
